PURPOSE:To enable a calling subscriber in a digital integrated communication network to recognize a terminal equipment enable for communication and to execute call setting request to the terminal equipment by informing the calling subscriber of the current operational conditions of a plural number of terminal equipments at the called side. CONSTITUTION:A plural number of terminal equipments (telephone set 4, display display device 8, facsimile 5, and data terminals 6 and 7) are connected to a subscriber line 2 via a terminal connecting device 3. When a switching network 1 transmits a receive request to a subscriber line 2-2, a terminal condition informing device 31 identifies current operational conditions of terminals at the called side, replies terminal conditions to the calling subscriber, and the calling side displays the received information on a terminal condition display section 32. With this, the calling subscriber can recognize what type of communication is able to communicate and can issue a call setting request to the terminal equipment for the recognized type. |
