PURPOSE:To obtain the titled friction material for applying to industrial mechinery, etc., having excellent heat-resistance as well as oil-resistance and capable of keeping high abrasion resistance comparable to sintered alloy stably for a long period, by using a highly saturated nitrile elastomer as a base resin for imparting elasticity. CONSTITUTION:The objective friction material can be produced by compounding (A) a friction agent composition with (B) 15-50wt% highly saturated nitrile elastomer (e.g. a nitrile elastomer hydrogenated to an extent to leave 0-10% double bond), (C) 4-20pts.wt. of a peroxide (based on 100pts.wt. of the component B) and (D) 15-50wt% thermosetting resin. |
