PURPOSE:To permit use of a pair of doors at a bottom opening portion of a hold even in a shallow draft area, by pivotably supporting the center of the doors, making such a pivotal portion vertically movable, and releaseably engaging both ends of the doors with receptacles provided at the bottom of side walls of the hold. CONSTITUTION:A hopper-like hold 2 is provided at a central portion of a hull 1, and a pair of doors 3 are pivotably supported at their center to a bottom opening portion 2a of the hold. A pivotal portion 5 is connected to a hydraulic cylinder 6, and is designed to be vertically moved along a guide 11. Both ends of the doors 3 are releaseably engaged with receptacles 8 provided at the bottom of side walls 4 of the hold in such a manner as to be swingable by means of hydraulic cylinders 10. In discharging a sediment in the hold 2, the pivotal portion 5 is upwardly moved, and the receptacles 8 are swung to disengage the doors therefrom, thereby discharging down the sediment owing to its mass. Therefore, the barge may be used even in a shallow draft area.
