The present invention relates to a device for locking an annular piece on a rod, applicable particularly to the fastening of ear studs, jewels, badges, garment buttons etc. This device is characterised in that it comprises, on the rod 1, a transverse annular groove 1b and, inside the annular piece 3, at least three balls 7 located in one and the same transverse plane which are held by at least one spring 8, 9, 10 surrounding them and capable of being deformed outwards, the three balls 7 together delimiting a passage with a width which is smaller than the diameter a of the rod 1 so that, when this rod 1 is inserted axially into the annular piece 3, it separates the balls 7 by pushing them back outwards and these balls 7 are then accommodated in the transverse groove 1b of the rod 1, being held under pressure in this groove 1b, in the locking position, through the action of the spring or springs 8, 9, 10 surrounding them. <IMAGE>
