PURPOSE:To stably separate and supply sheets regardless of thickness by installing a paper cassette having a frictional separation member in a hopper having a finger separation system. CONSTITUTION:Paper sheets 7 are fed by a pick-up roller 1, and only the uppermost sheet is separated by a separating finger 3 to be fed out by a feed roller 14, and a pressure roller 8. A cassette case 20 where a designated number of paper sheets of a designated size pushes down a hopper 4, and the case 20 is inserted in the hopper 4 in place of paper sheets in the hopper and set. A separation roller 21 as a friction member is mounted on the case 20 is mounted on the case 20 through an elastic member 22 with a designated space from a paper guide 27. Thick sheets 26 are pressed to the guide 27 by a hopper 23 having one end supported by the case 20, which is pushed up by a spring 25, and only the uppermost sheet is separated and fed out by the roller 21.
