A solenoid valve, in particular for water-conducting household appliances, is simplified and made less expensive. Starting from a known solenoid valve with a coil housing (2), an exciter coil (1), a plastic-covered spring-loaded armature (14) which is provided with a conical nipple (15) and is inserted with its return spring (13) into the watertightly closed guide section (6) of a central guide bush, a hollow cylindrical insertion extension (7) adjoining the open side of the guide section, which extension is surrounded by a sealing ring, holding members (11) are arranged on the insertion extension (7), which interact with the armature (14) and prevent the latter from jumping out of the guide bush. The holding members (11) can be designed as catch fingers which make way elastically for an annular collar (16) on the armature. The insertion extension (7) preferably projects beyond the conical nipple (15) in the longitudinal direction. <IMAGE>
