PURPOSE:To reduce memory capacity by storing only data that are to be written in a main memory provisionally in an archival memory instead of storing all blocks of data that become objects of operation. CONSTITUTION:When a CPU 101 reads data from a main memory 109, as a memory write signal 104 is off, switches 106, 107 connect an address bus 103 and a data bus 102 to the main memory 109, and the CPU 101 is directly connected to the main memory 109 and reads data of the main memory 109. When the CPU writes data in the main memory 109, the memory write signal is on, and accordingly, switches 106, 107 connect the two buses 103, 102 to an archival memory 108 and write the data in the archival memory 108. In the case where mistake etc. took place in operation and restoration is to be made, it is enough to reset the archival memory 108 as there are previous data in the main memory 109. If restoration is not commanded new data are shifted to the main memory 109 using lines 110-112.
