PURPOSE:To grasp accurately the holding state of a sheet by providing the 1st and 2nd electrodes arranged oppositely to each other and at least one of which is divided in plural divisions axially in the vicinity of the circumference of the sheet. CONSTITUTION:A sheet support assembly 3 consists of a sheet support member 6 arranged in parallel with a turning shaft 1b on the surface of drum 1, 10 claws 5a-5j fixed to the said support member 6 and a support member 7 provided at both ends of the said sheet support member 6. A slot 1c is formed at a position opposed to each projection of the claws 5a-5j on the surface of the drum 1 and an electrode plate 4 is imbedded in the slot 1c. A printed board 4a is fixed to the surface of the electrode plate 4. Total 150 electrode patterns 19n are printed on the printed board 4a at positions corresponding to the projections of the claws 5a-5j. In deenergizing a solenoid 8, the claws 5a-5j depress a sheet against the drum 1 with a prescribed force and no electric conduction exists at a part having the sheet among the electrode patterns 19n and the claws 5a-5j and parts having no sheet are conducted.
