Method for preventing fractures or flaws in punched, plate-shaped parts, in particular in interior lining parts of motor vehicles, in the region of areas weakened by punching out, occurring during transport. Elongate, rigid clamp profiles are clamped onto the edges of the plate-shaped part, at least in the weakened regions prior to transport, preferably directly following the punching process. These clamp profiles increase the rigidity and thus prevent fractures and flaws. They are simple and cheap, save space during transport and can also remain on the edges during installation until a very late point in time. <IMAGE>
