PURPOSE:To obtain an excellent transfer image having high density and stable gradation by minute heat energy and to eliminate the release sound when a transfer sheet and a receiving sheet are relased after thermal transfer, by using a specific phenolic compound as a coupler and containing a porous filler having specific oil absorbancy in a receiving layer. CONSTITUTION:The titled transfer medium consists of a transfer sheet having a transfer layer based on a leuco dye and a receiving sheet having a receiving layer based on a coupler to said lecuo dye. As the coupler, a phenolic compound represented by formula (wherein A is a substituted or unsubstituted phenyl group or naphthyl group. In this case, as a substitutent, halogen, alkyl, alkoxy and hydroxy etc. are designated. R is hydrogen, halogen, alkyl or alkoxy) is used and a porous filler with oil absorbancy of 50ml/100g or more is contained in the receiving layer. Because the phenolic compound represented by the formu la has high dissolving capacity to the leuco dye, the melting of the leuco dye in the transfer layer is markedly enhanced. Further, a high density developed color image is formed by minute heat energy. |
