PURPOSE:To simplify and speed up the syntactical analysis of Japanese sentence by determining the kind of the sentence in an early stage by a key word at the end of the sentence. CONSTITUTION:A syntactical analysis processor 1 takes out sentences one by one from an input text storing section 4, scans from the end of each sentence and finds out that coincides with end key word of sentence in a sentence kind determining table 2. When coincident one is found, the kind of the sentence of the line becomes the kind of the sentence. Then, an analyzing table 3 that forms a status transition table of corresponding syntactical analysis is accessed by using a pointer to the analyzing table 3 of the line, and the sentence is analyzed according to the status transition table 3. In the case of a syntactical analysis status transition table corresponding to the assignment statement, the first status is (1). When a variable (for instance A) is inputted at the time of (1), A is written in an address indicating substituted place and the status becomes (2). When a character 'ni (Japanese syllabary)' is inputted at the time of the status (2), A is written in an address indicating substituted place, and the status becomes (3). When a variable (B) is inputted at the time of status (3), the status becomes (5). When 'o (Japanese syllabary)' is inputted in the status (5), 'B' is written.
