Stepping motor drive

A stepping motor drive for angle positioning of a rotor is provided, while having as little friction damping as possible, with a coupled rotating damping device whose rotation-speed-dependent braking torque tends to zero as the rotation speed decreases and which is advantageously constructed as a DC motor which operates in short-circuit, it being possible to achieve a high braking torque at low rotation speeds, but a constant or low braking torque at high rotation speeds, via corresponding electronic circuitry and/or by means of step-down transmissions and sliding clutches.
