An adhesive is described, in particular a hot-melt adhesive, which sets and hardens under the effect of moisture, as well as a device matched to this adhesive for application of the latter, the adhesive being vacuum-packed in a moisture-tight manner and the device having a cylindrical body in which the adhesive can be inserted with a good fit into a recess which can be flushed with an inert gas and in which the adhesive is melted by the effect of heat, the liquid adhesive collects in a chamber and can be applied by means of a driven pump.
