Articulated shaft for play-free torque transmission, with flexible shaft joints for compensating angular and axial misalignment

The invention relates to an articulated shaft with flexible shaft joints which consist of disc- or cone-shaped diaphragms which are flexible as regards angular and axial deformations and stiff with regard to torsional and radial deformations. The diaphragms are reinforced against local instabilities (shear bulges) by profiles on the (thin) diaphragms, the profiles preferably being arranged in a ring around the centre and preferably being wave-shaped in their cross-section. This shaping furthermore provides additional elasticity for the desired mobility. The diaphragm is preferably manufactured from fibre-reinforced plastic in laminate form and preferably in one piece with an associated shaft section (likewise composed of fibre-reinforced plastic), giving one-piece articulated shafts.
