The coating (20) enabling to repair used stair steps has two parts integral with each other (21, 22; 25, 29) made of plastic resistant to stepping and to abrasion. At least one part (21) has on its lower face applied to the step (10) an insert made of insulating press board plate having a specific weight lower than that of the plastics (23) of the coating.
