In a high-speed stranding machine with a rotating stranding housing (1) which is provided with a planetary gear, the stock reels as well as the drawing-off and winding devices are located outside the stranding housing (1) and outside a stranding tube (9) which, if appropriate, is arranged concentrically to the stranding housing. A simple and compact design becomes possible thereby, whilst, on the other hand, long stoppage times for exchanging the stock reels are avoided. <IMAGE>
