An auxiliary unit (1) (Figure 2) serves for piping doughy or pasty compounds onto baked articles. An approximately cone-shaped icing bag (2) serves to receive the compounds and can be connected at its larger filling end to a winding spindle-like holder of the auxiliary unit. Alongside the said holder (6), the auxiliary unit essentially has a rotary drive (7) which is connected to the said holder and by means of which the holder (6) can be twisted and the icing bag (2) can be wound onto the latter. The rotary drive (7) may be driven by hand or by means of a motor. A guiding catch is advantageously provided for the rotary drive, so that only short rotary stroke movements are necessary. A support having a support rod (23) is provided for attachment to an operator. <IMAGE>
