An upholstery cushion 1, preferably for upholstered furniture, contains a mixture of natural feathers 2 and foamed-material pieces 3 of uniform thickness. The foamed-material pieces 3 have in this case a drop-shaped elongate outline which approximately reproduces the outline of a goose feather or duck feather. The natural feathers 2 are down of rural poultry, which can be obtained for example from chicken or turkey feathers (Fig. 2). <IMAGE>
