摘要 PURPOSE:To prevent generation of heat shock by a method wherein the layer of heat- accumulating body is divided into two zones having different temperature gradients in the outflow direction of gas to be heated and the gas is heated so that the temperature thereof near the inflow section of the gas becomes low. CONSTITUTION:A bypass port 8 can be opened and closed by a valve 12 and when the bypass port 8 is closed, gas for heating, supplied from a burner 3, heats the whole of the layer 2 of heat-accumulating body and flows out of the exit port 5 of the gas for heating. Next, when the bypass port 8 is opened and the exit port 5 of the heating gas is closed by the valve 10, the gas flows out from the bypass port 8 to the outside of a shell 7 and the heat- accumulating body between the end A of the layer 2 of heat-accumulating body and the position of the bypass port 8 is heated, while the same body between the end B of the layer 2 of heat-accumulating body and the position of the bypass port 8 is not heated. Then, these two operations are combined, whereby the temperature distribution of the layer of heat- accumulating body in the zone I is uniformed substantially at the maximum temperature of the heat-accumulating body, while the same in the zone II forms a form in which the temperature in the layer 8 is increased in proportion to the height of the same layer 8 of heat-accumulating body. Accordingly, heat shock will never occur and the outlet temperature of the gas to be heated may be kept in a high temperature for a long period of time.
