<p>An anti-human pancreatic α-amylase monoclonal antibody having the following properties: (a) capable of recognizing human pancreatic α-amylase; (b) substantially unable to recognize human salivary α-amylase; and (c) not deactivating human pancreatic α-amylase even after its immunoreaction with said enzyme as the antigen. A method for assaying human pancreatic α-amylase using the monoclonal antibody, a method for separating human pancreatic α-amylase from human salivary α-amylase, and a reagent therefor are also disclosed. Separation and assaying of human pancreatic α-amylase and human salivary α-amylase in human body liquid such as blood serum serve to diagnose various diseases, particularly pancreatic diseases.</p> |
