PURPOSE:To improve low-temp. toughness by combining a bond flux contg. specific weight % of SiO2, MgO, etc. and having prescribed basicity and a cored wire contg. prescribed % each of CaF2 and Ni and executing welding. CONSTITUTION:The high-basicity bond flux contg. 10-30% SiO2, 8-20% Al2O3, 25-45% MgO, 10-30% CaO and 7-20% CaF2 and having >=1.5 basicity B expressed by the formula is used as the flux component. The cored wire contg. 5-25% CaF2 and 2.5-5.5% Ni and added with Mo and Ti respectively at <=0.5% according to need is further used as the wire. The generation of blow holes is prevented and the content of oxygen in the weld metal is decreased if welding is executed by combining such bond flux and cored wire. The improvement of low-temp. toughness is thus made possible.
