<p>An ironing device has a support (2) in which a first ironing plate (3) is supported by at least one vertical support which can be adjusted for height. A second, smaller ironing plate (4) which is pivotally linked with the first ironing plate (3) can be moved between its rest position and its operating position over the first ironing plate. In order to bring into operation, as desired, quickly and easily the second, smaller ironing plate without interrupting the ironing work, the second ironing plate (4) is equipped at one end with a support arm which runs at right-angles to the latter and is connected with the first ironing plate (3) around a horizontal pivoting axis. The first ironing plate is equipped with two stops which limit the pivoting angle of the support arm. The second ironing plate (4), as it pivots between the stops, passes through a dead point. The second ironing plate (4) is located in its forward-pivoted position at a distance over the first ironing plate (3) approximately parallel to the latter, and in its backward-pivoted position at a distance behind or in the rear region of the first ironing plate.</p> |
