A sealing system for hydro-dynamic double-belt presses having a slideway lining which is fixed in relation to the pressing plate, is made of an elastomer and is situated between the pressing plate and the pressing belt, a sliding medium which is introduced between the slideway lining and the pressing belt and devices for sealing and returning the sliding medium is described, strips being assigned to the slideway lining at least in the edge regions on the inlet side and the outlet side to improve the seal and to protect the slideway lining, the strips' supporting surfaces which interact with the pressing belt projecting beyond the plane of the slideway lining, at least in the unloaded condition.
