PURPOSE:To attain to enhance operability, by decreasing the falling speed of a mount plate holding a cassette case in the region reaching a printing position from an operation position and increasing the moving speed thereof in the region other than said range. CONSTITUTION:A mount plate 12 for holding a cassette case 1 having a printing ribbon 10 received therein is connected to a carrier 3, which has a printing mechanism 6 and a ribbon feed mechanism mounted thereto, in a freely movable manner and the lift motor 5 for moving the mount plate 12 to a home position I, a printing position II and the other operation position III is mounted to the carrier 3. A spool 6 for holding both ends of a collection ribbon 15 or the other color ribbon low in use frequency is mounted to the mount plate 12 in a freely rotatable manner. The rotary speed of the lift motor 5 is controlled by a control means so that the moving speed of the mount plate 12 fallen from the operation position to the printing position II is decreased and that of said mount plate 12 is increased in the other falling section and all rising sections to shorten an operation time.
