PURPOSE:To obtain the title cooling material having improved cooling power and freeze resistance, by blending colloidal water dispersion comprising a specific ratio of galactomannan, alpha-starch, and propylene glycol with dialdehyde starch, followed by gelation. CONSTITUTION:A) 2-10wt% of galactomannan (preferably Guar gum) is wetted with B) 0-20wt% of propylene glycol, blended with water uniformly, and blended with C) 0.5-5wt% of alpha-starch to give colloidal water dispersion, which is blended with D) preferably 0.1-1wt% of dialdehyde starch (preferably dissolved in an aqueous solution containing acetic acid, etc.) and made to gel to give the desired cooling material. EFFECT:When the cooling material is packed in a container, it is weakly crosslinked gel, and after packing the strength is improved by crosslinking to give gel free from water release. |
