PURPOSE:To supply a thin sheet having good quality at a low cost by providing a pouring nozzle to the pouring basin of a tundish, bringing the front end face of the nozzle into tight contact with the surfaces of cooling rolls under the required pressure or detaching said face from the roll surfaces, moving the nozzle to the required position and holding the same. CONSTITUTION:A horizontal stand 4 which moves the pouring basin 1 of the tundish having the front end face of the nozzle 1 in tight contact with a pair of rotary cooling rolls 7, 6 of which the upper roll is small in diameter and the lower roll is large in diameter, a cylinder mechanism 3 which is fixed at the shaft end to the rear end of the pouring basin 1 and is horizontally provided to the stand 4 and posts 18 which support the stand 4 and can be vertically moved by fine adjustment are provided to a device which uses the rolls 6, 7 as a mold and produces the thin metallic sheet by continuous casting. The mechanism 3 is actuated to bring the front end face of the tundish 11 into tight contact with the roll surfaces under the required pressure and to maintain the tundish position. The molten metal is then supplied between the rolls.
