PURPOSE:To fix surely a bearing material and to improve production efficiency by using a chiller and selecting an adequate temp. during cooling of a bearing box material then casting the bearing material. CONSTITUTION:A core 6 is erected to a central hole 7 of a lower matrix 5 and after the chiller 3 is inserted into a hole 8, an upper matrix 11 is put on said matrix so that the upper part of the core 6 is projected to the center of a sprue 13. The upper part of the chiller 3 is fitted into a hole 8'. The molten metal for the bearing box material is poured through a sprue 14 and is filled through a runner 10 into recessed holes 9, 9'. The molten metal is also filled up to the sprue 14 as a riser. The molten metal for the bearing box material solidifies and cools earlier in the part where the molten metal contacts with the chiller 3. The molten metal for the bearing material 4 is poured through the sprue 13 to fill a cavity 12 and is filled up to the sprue 13 as the riser when the temp. of the chiller 3 attains the required temp. lower than the m.p. of the bearing material. The excess bearing box material and bearing material after cooling are cut and the inside diameter of the material 4 completed.
