PURPOSE:To reduce the cost of production by forming a magnetic head into the multi-layer structure provided with non-magnetic material on the inside of a shielding case and constituting the head in such a manner that the non- magnetic material on the inside of the shielding case is exposed to the inside edge of an aperture. CONSTITUTION:The shielding case 8 is made into the multi-layered constitution of the outside layers 8a consisting of a high permeability material such as 'Permalloy(R)' and the inside layers 8b consisting of the non-magnetic material such as stainless steel. The inside edge in the aperture of the case 8 is bent toward the outside near the aperture where magnetic cores 2a, 2b are exposed from the case 8. The layer 8b is therefore exposed from the aperture and is eventually interposed between the cores 2a, 2b and the outside layer 8a. The need for providing a spacer plate is thus eliminated and the reduced number of parts and working stage is attained.
