PURPOSE:To control temperature easily by constituting a heat roller of a conductor and arranging an AC magnetic field generating coil for generating heat on the basis of loss of eddy current on a position of the heat roller to be contacted with recording paper at the transfer of the recording paper or its adjacent position. CONSTITUTION:The recording paper 3 to which unfixed toner is adhered is held and carried between the heat roller 1 and a rotating roller 2 which are oppositely arranged. The roller 2 is made of an elastic, hard and heat resisting material and the roller 1 is made of a conductor such as iron, aluminum and copper. The AC magnetic field generating coil 5 for generating the magnetic field by a high frequency power source 4 is arranged near the position on the roller 1 where the roller 1 is contacted with the recording paper 3 so as to be applied to the whole width. When the recording paper 3 to which the unfixed toner is adhered is carried up to the position close to the gap between both the rollers 1, 2, the arrival of the recording paper 3 is detected and current is supplied to the coil 5, so that the AC magnetic field is generated. In the AC magnetic field, the roller 1 is rotated and heat is generated due to the loss of eddy current. Thus, the temperature control can be easily attained.
