[Classes 41 and 53] Nickel oxide electrodes for accumulators are made by subjecting nickel.plates to electrolysis in a solution containing primary alkali salts of polyvalent acids. Sodium or potassium bicarbonate may be used, or in an alternative method the electrolytic bath comprises a solution of borax and boric acid. The nickel plates may be porous, and a number of plates may be placed close to one another in the bath, the oxide being deposited between them. The oxidized plates may be provided with addi tional active material which may be deposited chemically. |
