PURPOSE:To enable to perform flame-retardant treatment of a foamed polystyrene block through an extremely simple method, by performing molding of the title material on the surface of a foamed polystyrene molded material by making a thin layer of a heat decomposable inorganic compound form. CONSTITUTION:The title molded material is constituted of a thing molded by making a thin layer of a heat decomposable inorganic compound form on the surface of a foamed polystyrene molded material. In addition to the above, as for a heat decomposable inorganic compound, salts (mainly hydrate) such as carbonate, bicarbonate sulphate, phosphate, monohydrogenphosphate and dihydrogenphosphate and a metallic hydroxide can be utilized. These inorganic compounds prevent a temperature rise on the surface of the molded material by generating harmless gas such as carbonic acid, steam and others through high-temperature hating based on a flame and the polystyrene molded material can be made into flame retardance.
