PURPOSE:To obtain uranium dioxide powder having excellent flowability and handleability, by converting slurry ammonium diuranate to flake, disintegrating the flake to granular powder, and roasting and reducing the powder. CONSTITUTION:Slurry ammonium diuranate (ADU) produced from solid UF6 is centrifuged in the rotary drum 21 of a centrifugal separator 20, and the filtered and dehydrated product is sent to the double drum drier 25. the ADU filtered and dehydrated between the drums 26, 26 of the drier 25 is compression- molded under heating to form flaky ADU. The flaky ADU is disintegrated with a screen mill 30, and the obtained granular ADU is supplied to the following roasting-and-reducing apparatus 35 to obtain the objective uranium dioxide powder by the roasting and reduction treatment.
