PURPOSE:To provide a paint compsn. which gives a coating film having excellent corrosion resistance and secondary physical properties, by blending a vinyl polymer with an amino resin. CONSTITUTION:0.1-50wt% vinyl monomer of the formula (wherein R1 is H, methyl; R2 is a 2-4C alkylene; R3 is H, alkyl; n is 1-100), 1-50wt% hydroxyl group-contg. vinyl monomer and 0-98.9wt% other vinyl monomer (e.g. styrene) are polymerized, e.g., by a soln. polymn. method to obtain a vinyl polymer (A). Component A and an amino resin (B) (e.g. butyl-etherified melamine resin) and/or a polyisocyanate (C) (e.g. tolylene diisocyanate) are blended in a weight ratio of A to B of 40:60-95:5 on a solid basis or in an equivalent ratio of the OH group of component A to the NCO group of component C of 1:0.5-1.5.
