PURPOSE:To maintain stable durability of steel sheet piles for long periods of time by a method in which the surface of a steel sheet pile is covered with a thermosetting plastic material and this thermosetting plastic covering layer is further covered with a thermoplastic material through an adhesive thermoplastic covering layer. CONSTITUTION:A thermosetting plastic cover 4 is put on the surface of a steel sheet pile 1 over a wide range from the contact portion of a thermoplastic cover 2. A thermoplastic cover 2 is further formed over the cover 4 through an adhesive thermoplastic cover. A low-rigid, high-elastic elastomer cover 3 covering end portions to the thermosetting plastic cover is formed over all the end faces of these covered portions. The covering operation for steel sheet piles can thus be used for various construction works with high reliability, and the manufacturing lines can be freely set up by using general painting operation.
