PURPOSE:To facilitate maintenance work in a compressor and improve its safety, by connecting cooling cylinders respectively with both ends of a low pressure cylinder through connecting link structures by bolt means placed along the axial direction of the cylinder while engaging high pressure cylinders with the cooling cylinders in the axial direction. CONSTITUTION:A compressor, having flanges in both ends respectively of cooling cylinders 7, 8, mechanically connects each one of the flanges with connecting link structures 3, 4 by bolt means 22, 23. And the compressor, placing the cooling cylinders 7, 8 on the common axial center with a low pressure cylinder 2 and fitting high pressure cylinders 5, 6 to be inserted into these cylinders 7, 8, has cooling passages 18, 19 of cooling water or the like in the periphery of the high pressure cylinders 5, 6. The compressor, generating stress in accordance with compression of gas only acting in the peripheral and radial direction for the high pressure cylinders 5, 6, holds stress in the axial direction to be loaded by the bolt means 20-23.
