PURPOSE:To provide conformability for pressing forces against structures by a method in which a leg to be gradually expanded from head portion in contact with one structure to the other structure is provided, and a sealing member with a fixing frange is used for the leg. CONSTITUTION:A rubbery elastic sealing member 3 is inserted into the aperture between structures 1 and 2, e.g., caissons. A wide contact area is provided for the head 3a of the sealing member 3 in contact with the wall face of the structure 1. Legs 3b and 3c to be gradually expanded toward the structure 2 from the structure 1 are extended, and a frange 3d with a hole 4 for burying and fixing a steel plate 5 inside is formed on the basal portion of the leg 3b. An anchor bolt7 is inserted into the hole 4, and a nut 8 is screwed with the thread of the bolt 7 to fix the sealing member 3 to the caisson 2. A conformability by which pressing forces against the structures 1 and 2 can be soft varied can be provided by the sealing member 3.
