PURPOSE:To eliminate the need for a stage for sandwiching spacers and to obtain a magnetic head having uniform quality by forming a core of a material clad with a magnetic material and non-magnetic material. CONSTITUTION:The non-magnetic material sheet 2 consisting of cupro-Ni having 0.1mm thickness is clad by cold press welding to the 81 Ni - 5.5 Mo - Fe alloy ('Permalloy(R)') sheet 1 having 2mm thickness and after the clad sheet is annealed, the sheet is rolled to 0.5mm thickness. The resultant sheet is formed to the shape of a DC erasing head and is annealed at about 1,000 deg.C. The formed sheet is butted to form an erasing head core. The magnetic head is produced by the simple stage in the above-mentioned manner and the head having satisfactory characteristics is obtd.
