PURPOSE:To prevent the deterioration of magnetic characteristics without exertion of large external force to a thin film magnetic layer side even if an excessive pressure is exerted thereto by melting sealing glass while the projecting part on the thin film magnetic layer side is held fitted into the recess on a substrate side in the stage of joining a protective plate via the sealing glass layer to the substrate side. CONSTITUTION:The sealing glass layer 6 melts and a extruded to the outside from the recess 7 when the protective plate 5 is superposed on the sealing glass layer 6 and the thin film magnetic film layer 3 side so as to face said layers and if the layers are heated under the pressure exerted thereto. The projecting part on the layer 3 side is then smoothly fitted into the recess 7 and the extruded glass layer 6 spreads by forming a thin layer atop the protective layer 4. The projecting part on the layer 3 side fits into the recess formed on the protective plate side even if the pressing force is exerted thereto in the stage of joining the protective plate. The exertion of the large external force to the thin film magnetic layer side is thereby obviated and the generation of deformation and the deterioration of the magnetic characteristics as with the conventional head are obviated. |
