PURPOSE:To make the title induction apparatus smaller as well as to save energy by a method wherein the supply of heat to a heat exchanger and the air blast supplied to a cooler are controlled in accordance with the value detected by a pressure detector. CONSTITUTION:After voltage is applied, temperature goes up by the heat generated by a winding 1, an iron core 2 and the like, and when the pressure reaching the uppermost limit of the prescribed value is detected by a pressure detector 15, a control valve 19 is closed by a controller 16. When a heater 21 is used, the heater is switched off. When there is load fluctuation, the quantity of heat generated by the winding 1 also changes. This change is detected by the detector 15, the operation of a part or the whole of blowers which feed cooled air to a cooler 4, is stopped so that the pressure inside a bath 3 is brought within the prescribed value, or the cooling power of the cooler 4 is changed by changing the number of revolution of the blower, thereby enabling to reduce the fluctuation of the pressure inside the both 3 due to load fluctuation can be reduced to the minimum. As a result, the gas insulated transformer can be made smaller and the saving of energy can be accomplished.
