METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR ROLLING

PURPOSE:To correct the camber of a rolling material and to maintain satisfactorily the quality of the rolling material by wrapping plural small-diameter rolls around the surface of the rolling material opposite from a high-speed roll according to the conditions under which the camber of the rolling material arises after different-speed wrap rolling. CONSTITUTION:A leveling roll 5 is wrapped around the rolling material S so as to curve the rolling material by having the required wrapping length in the direction opposite from the wrapping direction of the material S with respect to the high-speed roll to correct the camber of the material S generated by the different speed rolling. The thorough leveling with the roll 5 is not possible in some case in which the thickness of the material S is small. In such a case, the leveling roll 7 of the small diameter D2 according to the thickness t1 thereof is additionally pressed to the material S to curve the same by which the camber is corrected. The leveling rolls of the successively smaller diameters are added to bend the material S in the opposite direction as the correction of the camber is harder with a decrease in the thickness of said material. The sheet camber is thus corrected.
