PURPOSE:To improve the working performance by injecting a specific liquid as a base, curing the fluid member to form a packing member supporting a cathode-ray tube on a package. CONSTITUTION:A support 20 of plate shape having an opening at the center supports a panel 2 constituting a cathode-ray tube 1, a side wall of the panel 2, and an open end 13 of a package 8 and the entire parts are installed in a liquid bath 25. A liquid 26 having a larger specific gravity than that of curing fluid member RTV silicone, not dissolved with each other and not cured with the curing condition of the RTV silicone is injected in the liquid bath 25 at a height h0 and the RTV silicone is injected from the opening 10 of the package 5. When the level of a boundary 28 between the RTV silicone and the liquid 26 reaches a prescribed value H, the injection is stopped, the RTV silicone is cured to form RTV silicone rubber and to form a packing member 9. A fluorine inactivated liquid is used as the liquid 26.
