<p>A cylindrical container (1) for a paste-like substance is provided with at least one member for applying the substance. A piston (12) inside the container is attached to a piston rod (7) by a disc spring (13) which grips the rod only as it moves in the outward direction. The outer end of the piston rod is rigidly connected to the nose piece (15) of the container. The nose piece can be moved a short distance in the axial direction by a device (19, 20) which, when compressed radially, extends in the axial direction. The consequent forward movement of the piston drives some of the contents out through the nose piece along longitudinal grooves (9) in the piston rod.</p> |
