PURPOSE:To aim at not only eliminating the necessity of maintenance work such as level control for both hydrate and electrolyte vessels, but also reducing power consumption and so on, by getting water not to migrate between hydrate and electrolyte vessels. CONSTITUTION:A cylindrical cooler 10 which is equipped with a finned tube for allowing cooling liquid to flow through is installed in the circuit which sends chlorine gas generated in a cell section 1 to a hydrate vessel 4 through a pump 8, so that chlorine gas entering into the hydrate vessel 4 can be cooled, thereby separating water contained in the gas by condensation. The water thus separated can be stored in a trap 11 set up under the cooler 10 and later on preferably returned to the electrolyte vessel 2 by opening a valve 12. The cooler 10 made of titanium should be used and a part of cooling liquid for use in a heat exchanger 7 set up in a hydrate vessel 4 is recommended to be diverted for use as cooling liquid. |
