PURPOSE:To switch two different kinds of video appliance such as electronic still camera and VTR each other which are different is application by one device to use them according to the intended application by commonly using a part of circuit of the device with the TV camera. CONSTITUTION:A luminance signal is supplied to an FM modulator 13, while a color difference signal is supplied to adders 15, 16 and terminals 17a, 17b of a switch circuit 17. When used as a VTR, the sound signal is converted into FM sound signal by an FM modulator 25, then supplied to an adder 27, and the luminance FM signal is frequency divided and multiplexed with a low band convertion carrier color signal and a tracking pilot signal issued from an adder 20 and supplied to a rotary head 29. When the camera is used as an electronic still camera, the carrier frequency of FM modulators 13, 25 is switched by the switch signal sent from terminals 14, 26, and the color different signal is time serially compounded by the switch circuit 17, and converted to an FM line serial color difference signal by the FM modulator 25, which is then frequency divided and multiplexed by adder 32 with an FM luminance signal and supplied to a fixed head 34.
