Lipoxygenase inhibiting compounds

Compounds of the formula <IMAGE> where R1 is a trinuclear aromatic or biaryl group; R2 is hydrogen or C1 to C6 alkyl or cycloalkyl; n is 0 or 1; and M is a pharmaceutically acceptable cation, are potent inhibitors of the enzymes 5-, 12-, and 15-lipoxygenase.
