PURPOSE:To simply obtain an optimum ultrasonic image without rotating a specimen, by supporting a specimen stand to an apparatus main body in a freely revolvable manner and applying the prescription of revolution to the apparatus main body through an engaging member. CONSTITUTION:When a specimen is set to a specimen stand 27 and micrometers 28, 29 are revolved while an ultrasonic image is observed, cylindrical members 24, 25 are relatively revolved. As a result, a support member 26 is inclined three-dimensionally and the specimen stand 27 is stopped in its revolution at the position horizontally opposed to a lens. When the image direction of the specimen is changed, the press spring member 25 of a base 22 is loosened to make a support plate 20 freely revolvable and the specimen stand 27 is revolved around a shaft 14 toward an arbitrary direction and the screw member 15 is clamped at a desired position to fix the position of the plate 20. Click mechanisms 17, 22b, 22c, 16, 22e are together provided to the apparatus main body 21 and the specimen stand 27 is engaged at every predetermined angle of rotation.
