PURPOSE:To place a lens system at a photographing position surely before photographing by providing a device that detects the completion of switching focal length and a device that gives warning when switching is not completed within a specified time. CONSTITUTION:A changing switch S2 is switched to a contact (b) side by the operation of a focal length switching button. When the output level of a switch S3 that detects the position of a lens system is H, a lens barrel is moved by the driving of a motor 35 and the switch S3 becomes L level. When the lens barrel arrived at a specified influencing position, the level becomes H again and the motor 35 stops. When the output level does not change to L for a long period due to the stopping of the lens barrel on the way etc., the power source of the motor is cut off after a specified time from the starting of the motor and a buzzer 36 gives warning sound. Accordingly, the abnormality of position of lens system can be confirmed before photographing and the mistake of photographing can be prevented.
