PURPOSE:To obtain the titled article of high durability by incorporating specific polyallylamine in viscose followed by regeneration to contain the polyallylamine in high yield. CONSTITUTION:Polyallylamine with a molecular weight >=1,000 having recurring unit of formula and/or its derivative (e.g., a crosslinked one formed by crosslinking -NH2) is incorporated, pref. in the form of aqueous solution, in viscose followed by regeneration with the concentration of sulfuric acid higher than that in conventional coagulating bath and regenerating one by pref. 10-15g/l, thus obtaining the objective article. EFFECT:Availability of such regenerated cellulose articles as to be good in affinity for acid dye and excellent in absorptivity for metal ion. When they are treated with, e.g., sodium hexamethaphosphate, flame-retardant regenerated cellulose with high resistance to washing can be obtained without impairing feeling.
