PURPOSE:To facilitate assembly, transport and installation of a lead storage battery and enable the heat generated in the battery to be easily discharged by supporting a sack-like container where a plate group, a saddle and electrolyte are placed in a bottomed frame made of highly rigid material and applying tight pressure to the plates. CONSTITUTION:After a plate group 2, a saddle 7 and electrolyte are put in a sack-like container 1, the container 1 is placed in a frame 10 made of highly rigid material to support the plate group 2 by the frame 10. The frame 10 is formed by fixing iron bones coated with an acid-proof paint together using bolts and nuts. A bottom plate 11 coated with an acid-proof paint is attached to the inner bottom surface of the frame 10. Highly rigid side plates 12 coated with an acid-proof paint are placed in such a manner that they are in contact with the side plates of the plate group 2 through the container 1. The plate group 2 is tightly pressed by pressing the side plates 12 by means of bolts 13 inserted through the holes of the frame 10. Buffer materials 8 which consist of sponge-rubber sheets are used to prevent any breakage of the container 1. |
