PURPOSE:To contrive a simpler interface to a firmware for controlling a printer, by a system wherein when outputting a longitudinally enlarged character, printing of a two-line amount of data without transferring the data to a printer firmware, in response to designation of no line feeding, namely, a line feed pitch of '0'. CONSTITUTION:In a printing-processing part 11, a longitudinally enlarging control symbol checking part 13 examines the data read by a line data reading part 12 to check whether a longitudinal enlarging control symbol VC is present. An outputting part 14 requests a printer-controlling part 21 to output a line feed pitch of '0' for the line in which the symbol VC is present. An outputting part 15 informs the controlling part 21 of parameters 19 concerning the formation of a vertically enlarged pattern. An outputting part 16 outputs data for the next line of the longitudinally enlarged character to the controlling part 21. A reading part 22 in the controlling part 21 reads a pattern corresponding to a character code from a character generator 20. For the pattern, a forming part 23 outputs two dots in the state of being continuous in the longitudinal direction, thereby forming a longitudinally enlarged pattern. A driving part 24 drives a printer 25 to perform printing. |
